The police on Wednesday arrested a person on the cost of killing a teenage boy following an altercation over delayed serving of chow mein at a stall in Odisha’s Jajpur district.
The arrested man, an area chief of the opposition BJD, was remanded to judicial custody.
Police mentioned that 14-year-old Santanu Das died on Sunday because of the accidents he had suffered in the course of the assault on the night time of February 9 close to Gobindpur village beneath Jajpur block.
Santanu’s father Sukadev, a resident of Gobindpur village, alleged within the police grievance that he had gone to the stall of Anil Kumar Mallik to have chow mein, but it surely was not served to him even after half-hour.
When Sukhdev requested the explanation for the delay, he was allegedly crushed up by Mallik.
Santanu then reached the spot and requested the stall proprietor why he assaulted his father.
Native BJD chief Kamal Mallik, who lives close by, together with others then allegedly thrashed the boy with iron rods injuring him critically.
