Intrigue abounds on the Olympic males’s hockey match earlier than a puck has even been dropped.
Crew USA coach Mike Sullivan declined to name a starting goalie for his staff’s opener in opposition to Latvia on Thursday after the People’ first follow on Sunday.
“Efficiency issues,” Sullivan stated.
“We’ll know quickly sufficient,” Hellebuyck stated.
After a time off Friday, the People have a back-to-back on Saturday and Sunday in opposition to Denmark and Germany to wrap round-robin play.
In the meantime, the follow in Italy hinted at some line mixtures.
Auston Matthews centred a line that includes Jake Guentzel and Matt Boldy on his wings, whereas the Tkachuk brothers have been joined by Jack Eichel.
On defence, Jake Sanderson and Jackson LaCombe seem to be the odd males out.
The highest blue-line pair was comprised of Quinn Hughes and Charlie McAvoy, whereas Jaccob Slavin and Brock Faber teamed up forward of Noah Hanifin and Zach Werenski.
