Recap: Basic Meeting backs name for lasting peace
Assembly in an emergency particular session on Ukraine, the UN Basic Meeting this morning adopted a decision titled “Assist for lasting peace in Ukraine”, calling for a right away, full and unconditional ceasefire between Russia and Ukraine.
The textual content reaffirmed the Meeting’s dedication to Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity and referred to as for a complete, simply and lasting peace in keeping with the UN Constitution, the trade of prisoners of conflict and the return of civilians forcibly transferred, together with kids.
The decision was adopted by 107 votes in favour, 12 towards and 51 abstentions.
