Actor Manoj Bharathiraja, son of veteran Tamil cinema director Bharathiraja, died of a cardiac arrest right here on Tuesday. He was 48 years outdated.

Manoj debuted as a lead actor within the Tamil movie Taj Mahal directed by his father and later starred in Eera Nilam, and Varushamellam Vasantham.
Of late, he had been doing supporting roles in Tamil films.
In 2023, Manoj debuted as a director with Margazhi Thingal, a romantic drama that includes his father, Bharathiraja. He was final seen in Prime Video’s Snakes & Ladders.
Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M Ok Stalin, music director Ilaiyaraaja, actor-politician Khushbu Sundar, and director Venkat Prabhu condoled Manoj’s demise.
AIADMK (All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam) chief and Chief of Opposition Edappadi Ok Palaniswami, Tamil Maanila Congress President G Ok Vasan, and Tamil Nadu BJP President Ok Annamalai, amongst others, additionally prolonged their condolences.
In a social media message, Stalin expressed shock over Manoj’s loss of life at a younger age, and prolonged his sympathies to Bharathiraja and different members of the family.
“Extraordinarily shocked to listen to that Manoj is just not amongst us anymore. His premature demise pains. He was simply 48 years. Might God give the energy to his father Thiru #Bharathiraaja and his household to beat this insufferable, painful loss. You’ll be missed, Manoj. Relaxation in peace. Om Shanthi,” wrote Khusbhu on X.
Manoj is survived by wife-actor Nandana, their two daughters Arshitha and Mathivadhani.
