London-Mumbai Flight Makes Emergency Landing In Turkey’s Diyarbakir Airport; Over 200 Passenger

Over 200 Indian passengers have been caught in Turkey for greater than 16 hours following a Virgin Atlantic flight going from London to Mumbai diverted attributable to a medical emergency and later reportedly developed a technical challenge.

The plane landed at Diyarbakir Airport (DIY), a distant airport in Turkey that lacks the mandatory infrastructure to deal with such conditions, resulting in delays in arranging another flight. Passengers have been knowledgeable that the airplane skilled a technical challenge throughout touchdown.

All of the passengers are unsure about their onward journey from Turkey because the airline is but to announce any alternate preparations. A passenger informed CNN News18, “Emergency touchdown was made as one passenger had a panic assault. The airport in Turkey isn’t environment friendly sufficient to deal with the plane.”

Virgin Atlantic Flight Asks Passengers To Make Alternate Lodging

Annoyed passengers have urged the airline and authorities to rearrange alternate transportation promptly. Sharing their misery, one traveller talked about that no lodging had been supplied, and so they have been unable to go away the airport since it’s a navy base.

“Once we landed, first we remained onboard the plane for 5 hours. Then we have been requested to alight because the airline wanted to repair a technical challenge on the airplane. We’ve got now been on the airport for 13 hours with Virgin Atlantic neither making any preparations for us nor giving us any info on after we will depart for Mumbai,” after which some passengers informed TOI on the cellphone from there that the plane developed a snag,” one other stranded passengers, Sagar Kochhar, informed TOI on the cellphone from Turkey.

Different passengers reported that Virgin Atlantic has requested them to make alternate lodging if attainable. “This isn’t Istanbul. How we make any preparations, the airline is meant to take action. We’re sleeping on the ground, on chairs, and the meals being given is solely inedible,” one other passenger added.
