US president Donald Trump has signed an government order to ascertain a sovereign wealth fund (SWF) within the US. The scale, scope and nature of the SWF stays unlear.
US treasury secretary Scott Bessent and Howard Lutnick, the US secretary of commerce, have been tasked with submitting a plan to the president inside 90 days of the date of the February 3 order. The plan will embody suggestions for funding mechanisms, funding methods, fund construction, and a governance mannequin.
