Guwahati, Mar 7: A 59-year-old woman from Assam’s Cachar district, who spent two years in detention after being declared a foreigner, has now been granted Indian citizenship under the Citizenship Modification Act (CAA).
Dipali Das is a resident of Hawaithang space under the Dholai Meeting constituency in Cachar district.
In February 2019, she was declared an unlawful migrant by a Foreigners’ Tribunal (FT).
