Shillong, Could 21: East Khasi Hills district on Thursday organised Samridhi Ki Pathshala, a centered consciousness and field-training programme underneath the Authorities of India’s Modernisation of Command Space Growth and Water Management (M-CADWM) Scheme of the Ministry of Jal Shakti, at Lyngkhoi village underneath Sohiong Group and Rural Growth Block.
The initiative goals to educate farmers and Water Consumer Societies (WUS) on enhancing agricultural water infrastructure and adopting modern irrigation practices to improve water effectivity and agricultural productiveness.
The programme introduced collectively agricultural specialists, engineers and native farmers to focus on the significance of upgrading irrigation techniques and strengthening water management practices for sustainable farming.
As a part of the initiative, the Authorities of India has sanctioned Rs 3,37,40,325 underneath the M-CADWM Scheme for the Lyngkhoi Movement Irrigation Challenge Cluster to strengthen irrigation infrastructure in the realm.
The occasion was attended by native MLA Synshar Ok. R. Lyngdoh, East Khasi Hills Deputy Commissioner R. M. Kurbah, State Nodal Officer L. Sooting, Extra Deputy Commissioner and District Nodal Officer Shanborlang Warjri, Govt Engineer (WRD) and Member Secretary, DLIC, M. L. Lawai, Deputy Director, Ministry of Jal Shakti, Division of Water Sources, Shubham Pachauri, officers from the Central Water Fee (CWC), Mahana Ventures, the Block Growth Workplace, Water Consumer Societies and native farmers.
Officers mentioned the programme witnessed energetic participation from stakeholders and mirrored robust neighborhood dedication in direction of strengthening agricultural water management techniques and enhancing irrigation services in the district.
