Mysore/Mysuru: The Karnataka Rajya Raitha Sangha and Hasiru Sene have strongly criticised the State Authorities’s resolution to renew safaris in Bandipur and Nagarahole Tiger Reserves, alleging that the transfer prioritises the pursuits of capitalists over the protection of farmers dwelling alongside forest fringes.
State Secretary Manju Kiran accused the Authorities of bowing to stress from resort house owners and business pursuits as an alternative of safeguarding forests and human lives.
He charged that CM Siddaramaiah and Forest Minister Eshwar B. Khandre had despatched a message that capitalists mattered greater than farmers’ lives.
The unions introduced plans to put siege to the Bandipur safari workplace and warned that the agitation would intensify if the order allowing safaris is just not withdrawn.
Farmers expressed fears that the resumption of safaris would irritate human–wildlife battle, resulting in animals straying into villages, crop destruction and assaults on folks. They argued that at the same time as wildlife populations rise and forest areas shrink, the Authorities has chosen income issues over human security.
