The Cubbon Park police in Bengaluru registered two FIRs on Tuesday after a 55-year-old man was injured in an altercation with safety guards at a club, the place he turned agitated over being denied entry to retrieve his cell phone and was subsequently knocked down by a car, officers stated.
In response to the police, Rajesh Ananth visited the club on February 1 together with his household for meals and drinks, throughout which he unintentionally left his cell phone behind. The following day, round 2 pm, he returned to the club’s Lavelle Highway premises to retrieve the cellphone however was reportedly denied entry by safety guards.
The police stated Ananth, who was intoxicated at the time, created a disturbance at the gate. He took off his garments and allegedly tried to cease a pink car leaving the club premises, leading to him being knocked down and sustaining bruises and bleeding. The driving force of the car reportedly left the scene instantly. A number of bystanders recorded the incident on their telephones, and the video later went viral on social media.
“The safety workers caught me and dragged me out. Certainly one of them hit me with a stick, after which I used to be knocked down by a car whereas making an attempt to cease it. I’ve sustained accidents,” Ananth was quoted as saying within the FIR.
The police registered two FIRs—one on a criticism filed by Ananth in opposition to the safety guards and the car driver below Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita part 118(1) (voluntary inflicting of harm) and related part for rash driving, and the opposite in opposition to him below BNS sections 292 (public nuisance), 296 (obscene acts or phrases), 351(2) (felony intimidation), 352 (intentional insult with intent to impress a breach of peace), and 355 (misconduct in public by a drunken individual).
The police stated investigations have been ongoing in each instances. They’re verifying the precise sequence of occasions and analyzing movies recorded by bystanders.
