SHILLONG, FEB 22: The state authorities is awaiting the report of the working group committee regarding the proposed amendments to the Scheduled Tribes list in Presidential Order 1950.
“The federal government vide notification dated December 13, 2024 constituted the working group committee to work out on the list of Scheduled Tribes in Meghalaya for Amendment of Half-XI of the Scheduled of the Presidential order 1950 pertaining to the state of Meghalaya referred to as because the ‘Structure Scheduled Tribes order 1950” comprising of the chairperson, member secretary and eight members,” Chief Minister Conrad Ok Sangma stated in a reply tabled throughout the present Meeting’s price range session.
The committee has held three conferences thus far – on February 5, Might 15, and August 14, 2025.
