Shillong, April 28: The Vice Chancellor in-charge of North Japanese Hill College (NEHU), Prof. SM Sungoh, has written to Meghalaya DGP and requested withdrawal of police forces and CAPF personnel from the campus.
Over two platoons of police personnel and a bit of CRPF unit (CAPF) have been deployed contained in the campus on Monday following the current assault on an assistant professor within the college’s Hindi division. This has evoked sturdy criticism from the NEHU College students’ Union (NEHUSU), who’ve requested the district magistrates to direct all police personnel to go away the campus of the college and to be stationed elsewhere.
