Shillong, April 28: President of the North Japanese Hill College College students’ Union (NEHUSU) Sandy Sohtun was arrested on Monday for his alleged involvement within the assault of an assistant professor of the college’s Hindi division.
Confirming this, East Khasi Hills Superintendent of Police Vivek Syiem mentioned that the NEHUSU has been taken into police custody following an FIR filed by the instructor.

Assistant professor Hindi division Dr Alok Singh mentioned in his FIR submitted earlier than the Officer Incharge Mawkynroh outpost on April 25: “I’m deeply saddened to tell you that on April 24, at round 4.45pm, the president of NEHUSU, together with 5 accomplices, forcibly locked me inside my chamber within the division.
