A 42-year-old NTPC official was shot useless by two motorcycle-borne gunmen in Jharkhand’s Hazaribagh district on Saturday, police mentioned.
Six folks have been detained for interrogation in reference to the homicide of Kumar Gaurav who was posted as deputy common supervisor (dispatch) at NTPC’s Keredari coal mines challenge, Hazaribagh Superintendent of Police (SP) Arvind Kumar Singh mentioned.
The incident occurred round 9.30 AM close to Fatah Extra beneath the Katkamdag Police Station limits when the gunmen intercepted his automobile and fired at him, the SP mentioned.
At the moment, Gaurav was on his technique to the coal mine website from his quarters in Hazaribagh city, he mentioned.

Jharkhand BJP president and chief of opposition within the meeting Babulal Marandi condemned the incident and urged the state DGP to make sure the security of all challenge officers, staffers and companies in coal mine areas.
“I’m shocked by the incident of taking pictures and killing of DGM Gaurav Kumar of NTPC coal challenge in Hazaribagh,” Marandi wrote on X.
Marandi mentioned even after an assault on a coal dealer in Ranchi on Saturday, the police didn’t stay alert.
“Finally, the criminals ended the lifetime of a promising officer. The boldness of criminals has elevated through the rule of the Hemant Soren-led coalition regime,” he alleged.
The BJP chief additionally claimed, “In Jharkhand, hundreds of vans of coal are being stolen each day from Dhanbad, Bokaro, Ramgarh, Hazaribagh, and Chatra beneath the safety of the federal government equipment, and the cash amassed from such theft is being distributed from prime to backside. If this theft shouldn’t be stopped, lives will proceed to be misplaced like this.”
