PM Modi meets former UK PM Rishi Sunak and his family, calls him ‘great friend of India’

Rishi Sunak in India: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday (February 18) met former UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak and his household. He shared footage from the assembly and referred to as it a pleasant encounter. 

Sunak was accompanied by his spouse Akshata Murty, their daughters Krishna and Anoushka and his mother-in-law and Rajya Sabha MP Sudha Murthy.

‘Nice friend of India’

In an X publish PM Modi stated, “It was a delight to satisfy former UK PM, Mr. Rishi Sunak and his household! We had a beautiful dialog on many topics.”

The Prime Minister stated that Sunak is a good friend of India and is keen about even stronger India-UK ties. “Mr. Sunak is a good friend of India and is keen about even stronger India-UK ties,” he added.

Earlier within the day, Sunak and his household had visited Parliament Home in New Delhi the place they have been welcomed by Lok Sabha Secretary Normal Utpal Kumar Singh.

Rishi Sunak meets Nirmala Sitharaman

Sunak additionally met Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman and each leaders mentioned potential new avenues to strengthen market-based monetary ties and drive financial progress.

“Union Minister for Finance & Company Affairs Smt. @nsitharaman met with Mr. @RishiSunak, United Kingdom’s ex-PM and Member of Parliament, in New Delhi, as we speak,” the finance ministry stated in a publish on X.
