A protest was staged at Aligarh Muslim College (AMU) on Thursday after the varsity administration declined a request by college students to carry a ‘particular’ Holi occasion on March 9. Members of the Akhil Bharatiya Karni Sena staged an indication in opposition to the College, alleging discrimination in opposition to Hindu college students.

Confirming the request, AMU pupil Akhil Kaushal stated, “On February 25, AMU college students had written to the AMU Vice-Chancellor searching for permission to organise the ‘Holi Milan’ program on March 9. Until now, now we have not been granted permission for it.”
“We sought permission for the Holi celebration in NRSC as a result of final 12 months, there was anarchy and lawlessness through the Holi celebration at AMU and college students acquired afraid of celebrating the competition. Referring to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s comment calling AMU a ‘mini India’, the coed remarked that the shortage of response to the permission request for the Holi celebration raises questions on AMU’s secular standing. He questioned the administration about the identical and demanded a written response to the permission request.

Responding to the controversy, AMU Proctor Professor Wasim Ali Khan clarified that the choice was consistent with College coverage.
