Sericulture Minister pronounces in Meeting; says officers misguided CM
Mysore/Mysuru: Below mounting strain from Karnataka Silk Industries Company (KSIC) workers, environmental teams and Opposition events, the State Authorities has determined to drop the proposed stadium undertaking contained in the premises of the KSIC Filature Manufacturing facility at T. Narasipur.
Sericulture Minister Okay. Venkatesh introduced within the Meeting this morning that the plan to assemble a stadium throughout the 13.11-acre manufacturing facility campus has been scrapped. Earlier, the proposal envisaged constructing the stadium on 5.08 acres of land that had been handed over to the Division of Youth Empowerment and Sports activities (DYES).
The announcement follows an agitation by KSIC workers, who had gone on strike for greater than a fortnight, opposing the stadium undertaking.
Responding to a query raised by Krishnaraja MLA T.S. Srivatsa on why the Authorities was insisting on establishing the stadium inside KSIC premises, thereby destroying Mysore Silk heritage, the Minister stated, sure officers had misled the Chief Minister, who represents Varuna Constituency and the Authorities into believing that KSIC land was probably the most appropriate website for the stadium.
“There’s a large demand for GI-tagged Mysore Silk and we face a requirement for 300 to 400 sarees a day. It’s a extremely aggressive sector with gamers from Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu. We’ve efficiently outperformed them in phrases of silk high quality. We are going to enhance the manufacturing and modernise the models,” he stated.
The Authorities, he added, has determined to protect the heritage property and make sure the high quality and legacy of Mysore Silk by dropping the stadium plan.
In the meantime, Mysuru District Minister Dr. H.C. Mahadevappa
yesterday had assured Pramoda Devi Wadiyar, a member of the erstwhile Mysore Royal Household, that the KSIC Filature Manufacturing facility wouldn’t be shut down.
In a press assertion issued final night, Pramoda Devi stated, she had met the Minister following issues expressed by varied sections of society in Mysuru and Bengaluru relating to the longer term of the manufacturing facility.
“I’m happy to tell that the Minister has responded positively to the feelings expressed by all involved and warranted that KSIC manufacturing facility at T. Narasipur won’t be shut down,” Pramoda Devi stated, expressing gratitude on behalf of these related to the silk sector.
