Gangtok, March 1: Three individuals have been killed after a tipper truck plunged almost 300 feet off the highway at Tikzeck Veer in West Sikkim’s Gyalshing district late Saturday evening, police mentioned.
The accident occurred round 11 pm when the truck (registration quantity SK 02D 1173) was travelling from Dentam to Gyalshing carrying an combination load. Upon reaching Tikzeck Veer, the motive force reportedly misplaced management of the car, which veered off the highway and tumbled into a steep gorge beneath.
The deceased have been recognized as Pradeep Chettri (40), a driver-cum-proprietor and resident of Salley in Gyalshing, Nagendra Gurung (18) of Lingchom, and Onchen Bhutia (20) of Sindrabong, Darap, all in West Sikkim.
All three sustained grievous accidents in the crash and have been rescued by the evening obligation police crew. They have been rushed to the District Hospital in Gyalshing, the place medical doctors declared them useless regardless of efforts to save lots of them.
