The Galgotias College employees and officers on Wednesday vacated their stall on the India AI Influence Summit expo, following controversy over the show of a “Chinese language” robodog.
In response to sources, the authorities had requested Galgotias College to vacate its expo stall.
Galgotias College Registrar Nitin Kumar Gaur on Wednesday issued a press launch on behalf of the College and apologized for the confusion created on the Al Summit.
“We at Galgotias College, want to apologise profusely for the confusion created on the latest Al Summit. Certainly one of our representatives, manning the pavilion, was ill-informed. She was not conscious of the technical origins of the product and in her enthusiasm of being on digital camera, gave factually incorrect data although she was not authorised to talk to the press,” the discharge stated.
“We request your variety understanding as there was no institutional intent to misrepresent this innovation. Galgotias College stays firmly dedicated to tutorial integrity, transparency, and accountable illustration of our work. Understanding the organisers sentiment we have now vacated the premises,” it added.
Gaur earlier issued a clarification amid rising controversy over the show of a “Chinese language” RoboDog on the AI Influence Summit.
Talking to ANI, Gaur defined that the confusion stemmed from the usage of the phrases “develop” and “improvement.”
He clarified that the college didn’t develop the robotic however had labored on its improvement for educational and analysis functions.
“This is a jumble of two phrases, develop, and improvement. We did not develop it. We labored on its improvement… We wish to carry them, similar to that robotic was introduced, and an effort was made to get college students to do analysis on it,” Gaur stated.
Addressing a viral video during which Professor Neha Singh launched the RoboDog as “Orion” throughout the AI expo, Gaur steered there might have been a misunderstanding within the wording.
