The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has arrested a Junior Assistant posted in the workplace of the Superintending Engineer, PHE Mechanical City Circle, Narwal Jammu, for allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 4,500.
In response to officers, the CBI registered the case on Might 24 following a grievance alleging that the accused demanded cash for processing and clearing a pension case. The accused had reportedly shared a QR code through WhatsApp to obtain the bribe quantity digitally.
The company laid a entice and caught the accused whereas allegedly receiving the bribe by the QR code transaction. The Junior Assistant was subsequently arrested on Might 25.
CBI mentioned additional investigation into the case is underway.(KNC)
