A Class 8 scholar drowned in the Thevara-Konthuruthy backwaters right here on Friday afternoon.
The deceased was recognized as Asher Antony, 13, son of Martin, a local of Nettoor. The boy was reportedly swept away by robust currents when he was swimming.
The physique was discovered by divers from the Fireplace and Rescue Providers after an hour-long search. The physique was shifted to the Ernakulam Basic Hospital.
