Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar: Maharashtra Meals and drug administration (FDA) officers on Tuesday seized energy drink stock worth over Rs 56 lakh over alleged misbranding after conducting two separate raids at storage amenities in Waluj and Karodi belonging to a pharmaceutical and client healthcare agency manufacturing the drink.
In response to assistant commissioner with FDA, Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Dayanand Patil, the corporate violated rules that prohibit using phrases like “electrolyte” or “electrolyte drink” or related descriptors for meals merchandise within the absence of a prescribed commonplace.
FDA officers cited a Could 26 letter issued by the Meals Security and Requirements Authority of India (FSSAI) to the agency, objecting to using such terminology.
