NLC India Ltd (NLCIL) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with CSIR-Central Electrochemical Analysis Institute (CSIR-CECRI), Karaikudi to foster collaboration within the area of critical and strategic minerals beneficiation and extraction applied sciences.
The MoU was signed by IS Jasper Rose, Government Director (Mines & Land), NLCIL, and Ok Ramesha, Director, CSIR-CECRI, within the presence of Prasanna Kumar Motupalli, Chairman and Managing Director, NLC India Ltd.
Beneath the MoU, detailed studies shall be undertaken on overburden supplies and tailings generated from NLCIL’s Neyveli Mines to evaluate the potential for extraction and restoration of Uncommon Earth Components (REEs) and different hint components.
The collaboration will even discover related alternatives throughout different mining and exploration tasks of NLCIL, with the target of growing sustainable and economically viable applied sciences for useful resource restoration from secondary sources.
Motupalli emphasised that the collaboration between NLCIL and CSIR-CECRI would strengthen analysis efforts in direction of the beneficiation and extraction of REEs and different critical minerals related with overburden, tailings, and different secondary sources.
Ok Ramesha, Director, CSIR-CECRI, highlighted this strategic partnership would result in significant analysis outcomes and technological developments within the area of critical and strategic minerals, thereby supporting India’s efforts in direction of useful resource safety and self-reliance in critical mineral provide chains.
