Faculty of Planning and Structure to host
Mysuru: On the event of World Surroundings Day, a one-day workshop on ‘Methods for Improving Blue-Green Networks in Urban Areas’ shall be organised on June 23 at 10.30 am at Prof. Okay.S. Rangappa Auditorium, Faculty of Planning and Structure, College of Mysore (UoM), Manasagangothri, Mysuru.
The workshop shall be inaugurated by Nitesh Patil, Regional Commissioner, Mysuru Division and Administrator, Mysuru Metropolis Company and shall be presided over by Prof. N.Okay. Lokanath, Vice-Chancellor, UoM.
Prof. Dr. B. Shankar, Convenor, Institute of City Planners, India (ITPI), Mysuru Centre, shall be current on the workshop collectively organised by the Faculty of Planning and Structure, UoM; ITPI, Karnataka Regional Chapter, Bengaluru and ITPI Mysuru Centre.
The programme goals to convey collectively city planners, architects, engineers, environmental specialists, directors, academicians, researchers, college students and residents to deliberate on sustainable, resilient and habitable city improvement methods.

Sridharan, Council Member, ITPI and former Director, Faculty of Planning and Structure, Delhi, Vijayawada and Bhopal, together with senior workplace-bearers of ITPI Karnataka Regional Chapter Okay. Narayana Gowda, Laxmikanth Pawar, M.C. Shashikumar and A.V. Rangesh, Okay. Narasimhamurthy, Prof. Narayana Sastry and Dr. Yashaswini, ITPI Mysuru Centre will take part in the workshop.
The Director of Faculty of Planning and Structure Prof. Dr. H.S. Kumara, HoD of Planning Prof. Dr. H.N. Nagendra, HoD of Structure Prof. Pramod M. Gawari, school members, planners, architects, academicians, researchers and college students may even take part.
The workshop focuses on the significance of Blue-Green Networks — an built-in method combining blue infrastructure akin to lakes, rivers, wetlands and water programs with inexperienced infrastructure together with city forests, parks, biodiversity zones, inexperienced corridors and public areas. These networks assist deal with local weather change, city flooding, warmth stress, biodiversity loss, water safety and environmental degradation.
