Excessive-stakes peace negotiations between america and Iran have ended with out an settlement, marking a big setback in efforts to ease rising tensions within the Center East. The talks, held in Islamabad and mediated by Pakistan, lasted almost 21 hours and concerned direct discussions between senior officers from either side.
At a press briefing, US Vice President JD Vance says, “…The unhealthy information is that we’ve not reached an settlement. I feel that’s unhealthy information for Iran rather more than it’s unhealthy information for the USA. So, we return to the US having not come to an settlement…they’ve chosen to not settle for our phrases.”
“…No matter shortcomings within the negotiation, it wasn’t due to the Pakistanis who did a tremendous job and actually tried to assist us and Iranians bridge the hole and get to a deal. We’ve been at it now for 21 hours and we’ve had quite a lot of substantive discussions with the Iranians. That’s the excellent news. The unhealthy information is that we’ve not reached an settlement. I feel that’s unhealthy information for Iran rather more than it’s unhealthy information for the USA. So, we return to the US having not come to an settlement…they’ve chosen to not settle for our phrases.”
