Ghana’s authorities says it’s planning legal action over Canada’s determination to deny the visa utility of a member of its nationwide soccer crew awaiting a rape trial in London.
Midfielder Thomas Partey has pleaded not responsible to the allegations, which date again to when he performed for the English membership Arsenal in 2025.

In an announcement launched on social media Saturday, Ghana says the choice by Canadian immigration authorities is “extraordinarily unfair,” and Partey must be presumed harmless forward of his trial.
Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada says it makes its selections on a case-by-case foundation and that internet hosting main occasions doesn’t change its legal guidelines.
Partey was scheduled to journey along with his crew to Toronto from its base camp in Smithfield, Rhode Island, for its opening match towards Panama on June 17.
Ghana says it’s taking a look at all diplomatic, legal and administrative avenues.
Partey is scheduled to stand trial in November or later.
