Baramulla, June 10, 2026: In its continued efforts to curb illegal actions and keep public order, Baramulla Police apprehended 9 people concerned in playing throughout a swift operation carried out by Police Station Tangmarg.
Appearing on credible data concerning playing actions close to Shajimarg Crossing, a police crew instantly rushed to the situation and located a number of individuals engaged in card playing. On noticing the police get together, the people tried to flee from the spot however had been tactfully apprehended.
The arrested individuals have been recognized as residents of Qazipora, Katipora and Chanpora areas of Tangmarg.
Throughout the operation, money amounting to ₹19,410 was recovered from the spot and seized as proof.
On this connection, FIR No. 49/2026 underneath Part 13 of the Gambling Act has been registered at Police Station Tangmarg and investigation has been taken up.
