Shillong, June 12: The State Catastrophe Response Power (SDRF) on Friday recovered the body of a labourer who was trapped underneath particles after a soil collapse at a development web site in Mawdiangdiang, East Khasi Hills district.
In accordance with an announcement issued by the SDRF, details about the incident was obtained from the District Catastrophe Administration Authority (DDMA), East Khasi Hills, and instantly dispatched a rescue staff led by Inspector T. Tynsong. The staff reached the positioning at round 2:42 pm and started rescue operations.
SDRF’s preliminary evaluation discovered that the labourers have been finishing up excavation work for the inspiration of a constructing when a big amount of crammed soil from the higher portion of the positioning instantly gave means and collapsed into the excavation pit, trapping one employee beneath the particles.

The SDRF personnel carried out an intensive search and rescue operation and, after almost an hour of effort, positioned and recovered the sufferer from underneath the particles at round 4:10 pm. The labourer, nonetheless, had died in the incident.
The recovered body was handed over to the involved authorities and ambulance personnel in the presence of officers from the Mawdiangdiang Police Outpost, the headman of Mawdiangdiang, the proprietor of the development web site and colleagues of the deceased.
