Viktor Neuchev scored the winner 3:18 into time beyond regulation because the Chicago Wolves stopped the Toronto Marlies from finishing a sweep in the Calder Cup finals with a 4-3 victory on Thursday.
Neuchev fired the puck in off a rebound to silence the gang at Coca-Cola Coliseum in Recreation 4 of the American Hockey League championship collection.
The Marlies stay forward 3-1 in the best-of-seven collection with Recreation 5 set to be in Toronto on Friday (7 p.m. ET on Sportsnet 360, FloHockey).
Domenick Fensore and Justin Robidas scored in the third interval to pull the Wolves right into a 3-3 tie after getting into the body down two objectives. Bradly Nadeau opened the scoring 28 seconds into the primary interval for Chicago.
Jacob Quillan and Luke Haymes in the primary interval, and Ryan Tverberg in the second, put Toronto forward 3-1.
Cayden Primeau made 33 saves for the Wolves, whereas Artur Akhtyamov stopped 22 pictures for the Marlies.
